The great thing about Sub Serious is that we can order online and it gets delivered or at least ready for us to pick up because it gets crazy busy at lunch time. As I have mentioned before I am not a huge sammie fan, I like sandwiches but don't love them. The sandwiches here are really good, SO much better than Subway and the prices compare, seriously I can get a hot roast beef sub here (12") for the same price basically and the meat at Sub Serious is fresh, not that processed icky roast beef at Subway that looks like animal droppings. Serious subs at this place - good stuff and you can get dessert NEXT door at Chocolate Fashion which is my total weakness.. mmmmmmm pain au chocolate.. mm

Things I like about this place- It has been around forever, it is cheap meal in the gables, employees are very nice, and they serve hot and cold subs. Things I do not like- the quality of the meats they use. If you do not order from their daily special, you do end up spending a lot of money. For that, once could just go to Gusto Fino and get a much better meal. I like that this place has not kept up with the times, and feels like the early 1990's inside. However, I can't give a better review until I have a philly cheese that is not10% gristle.

I've walked by this place several times around lunch time and it's always empty, that's why I never tried it before. I work in a really busy area in coral gables and if this place is always empty, it must mean it's not good. We were really busy at work and I needed something quick so I stopped in. The place was empty as usual but I was craving a sub. The place looks very dated and the employees were just sitting around bored, I don't blame them. I got a turkey and roast beef on wheat. Their cold cuts have been sitting around awhile and don't taste like quality fresh cut deli meat. More like prepackaged meat. They have a good selection of toppings and the bread is good. Overall the sub is pretty average. Much better than subway but not even close to a good deli sub. Disappointing that there are no good sub shops in downtown coral gables.

Like a Subway but with a greasy diner twist. Frequented by local car mechanics and those looking for a cheap quick bite. It's fast food, greasy and just not that tasty. I had a turkey sub. Good- not great. Would I go back? Maybe in a year or so. But I am in no hurry.

I've been going to Sub Serious since high school, and the Steak Subs never disappoint. It's not what you'd get in Philly, perhaps, but anytime I'm craving a cheese steak I head over to Sub Serious -- they're cheap, grilled up right in front of you, and really, really tasty.

Sub Serious? More like substandard. I love sandwiches, absolutely love them. My favorite job of all time was making subs in a dingy NJ pizzeria. I gave 2 stars because this place has subs in the name, is focused on subs and for some reasons the subs are poor. I like fresh cut meat and attention to my sandwich. This place uses slimey meat and cheeses. Poor quality all around. Put some effort into it. A little goes a long way with sandwiches. I will continue my hunt for a decent sub in So Flo. I only eat here when there is no other choice.

I want to preface this review by saying that I only came here once, so my whole experience is based on just the one sub I had. They had a whole wall full of menu options, so maybe something else would have been more my speed. I doubt it though. If it weren't for speed and proximity to the office, this place would never ever be worth going to. It's perhaps almost literally a hole in the wall. The inside was still somehow very dark even though it was very sunny outside. The place looks like it was built more than 20 years ago and has not undergone any renovations whatsoever. It was bleak, yo. However, it doesn't matter if a place looks like garbage on the inside if the food is still good. There are plenty of good places that look like trash...this just isn't one of them. I ordered the steak and cheese special...which was frozen Steak-umms with two measly pieces of Swiss cheese on top. I guess the vegetables they used looked kind of fresh, but whatever. The sandwich came with an Otis Spunkmeyer cookie that's around the same size of a Chips Ahoy cookie and could be eaten in three bites (if you eat it like a squirrel) and a fountain drink. For $7, I guess that's not a bad deal, but the sandwich was not very good. It's not far from a lot of offices, and they serve you relatively quick (especially if you stick to cold cuts) but those are its only redeeming qualities. Bottom-line: It's slightly better than Subway, but is that really saying anything?

I called the first time at 330 and was told they deliver until 3pm. Then I called again at 230 pm and was told that they could not deliver. Horrible cutomer service, they told me but you can pick it up! Really, if I could pick it up I would not be calling for delivery. Very disappoinitng and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Totally not happy! They need to get more drivers or not offer delivery.

As I walked over here, I nearly broke my neck to get a look at these three hot women that were crossing Andalusia, heading in the general direction of this humble sub shop. Alas, they did not come in and partake in Serious Steak Bomb sandwiches with me; they went to Chocolate Fashion instead. I guess the lesson of this sad little anecdote is, if you want to lunch somewhere on Andalusia Ave. with Gables hotties, go to Chocolate Fashion. If you want to lunch with a bunch of sweaty uniformed mechanics from nearby Bill Ussery Mercedes, go to Sub Serious. In all seriousness (booo......hiss), the subs here aren't bad. I did order a Serious Steak Bomb, which is basically a footlong chopped-steak sub with some cheese and onions. The sizable menu is located on the right wall, for the most part separated into Cold and Hot (cooked to order) columns with many choices under each column. Decent. Not amazing - decent. My sub wasn't exactly jam-packed with flavor, even though I requested oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. At any rate, better quality than Subway, and a quick-and-easy no frills sub shop.

Also n the past when I ordered a Tuna melt they would charge the same price as a Tuna special. Today I ordered a Tuna sub and felt that the woman (I believe she wore glasses and has black hair) who served me was trying to make an extra buck out of me. The portion size was minimal and she was rude to me as I mentioned to her that I wanted a Tuna special, she asked if "I wanted cheese, it costs extra" and I replied "Only if it was for a tuna melt", she then put the cheese on it and served me a cold sub. I mentioned to her that I requested a "Tuna melt" and she said that, that costs extra too. I responded with I only wanted the cheese if it was for a tuna melt and she ended up giving me the sub at the special price w/ cheese, but was rude to me thereafter, she wouldn't even look at me and completely ignored me when I said "good bye to her". This inconvenience wouldn't have happened if after I said "I want cheese only if it was for a tuna melt" she should have mentioned that the Tuna melt now isn't part of the special. That sentence would've made me come back and continue to make me a loyal customer. Bottom line is the food used to be tasty, but now the portions are average at best and they are just trying to make an extra buck at any cost.

Is it fair to give this place a good rating simply because its convenient ? Hell yeah ! And the fact that they are an independent shop gets my preference as well. Don't get me wrong, I understand that behind a franchise name, there is an entrepreneur. But there is also something to be said to those who go at it alone and have to build their clientele based on quality and service. The Subs here are pretty good, they totally hit the spot any given day for lunch and the prices are quite reasonable as well.

It's just another chop-n-grill sub joint that's very similar to places like sub-rageous. But for being in coral gables, the prices are quite cheap. Majority of the subs range 5-6 bucks..and those are for the 'serious' kinds. Its not the greatest place in the world, but its a decent option for a lunch break. make sure to have cash handy!

It is not what it used to be, I believe that they have changed hands several times in the past few years, but it is still the best sub shop in Coral Gables. Nothing fancy just well stuffed subs with all of the toppings you could desire.

This is another case of was a 4 and is now a 3. I think they must have changed ownership or something because it's just not the same as the last few times I ordered. My co worker and I decided to partake of some yummy meats between two pieces of bread and neither of us is particularly happy with Subway so Sub Serious it was. My cheese steak could've used more cheese but the meat and bread were awesome! This accompanied with some dirty chips for about 7.50$ is a steal in the Gables! He ordered a turkey, salami and ham pretty basic, warm. t The problem was he repeated himself like 4 times she couldn't get it. Then she gave him the wrong amount of change for the food, weird... I hope it was just an off day and I can update on a good note. Bottom line, good & cheap in the Gables, we all need to have places like this in our repertoire.

i cannot believe i had never reviewed this place... its one of my favorite palces to order lunch from. they are super fast, for gables standards, usually less than half an hour. they are really affordable and have nice size portions, the junior subs are huge!! they have quite a variety of subs, hot and cold. and all are very fresh and made to order. their online order system and fax system are both great and super easy to use and basically fail proof. my favorite subs are the cheeseburger and chicken teriyaki. you cannot go wrong with those 2.. oooh ooohh good!!

consistently good subs and fast service ... it can get a little crowded and loud at times, so you have to pay attention to the person who took your order. daily specials go for 7$ and includes a jr sub, (big enough) a potato or macaroni salad and a drink. they also have salads and some interesting subs, like hamburger subs... yeah! Sub Serious ! I believe they are serious! Serious in taste ! I got a Philly cheese steak sub and it was rich in it's taste and fresh which is always the best! Price is good and maybe the place could be bigger but the service is always welcoming !

They make a helluva good subs here! And nothing is over $7 (except for 2 subs that are less than $7.50). You can have it made to tailor your taste or you can order from the menu. But since I don't eat subs often enough, I'm hesitant to give it a 5 stars ranking, but I am certain this one is among the top.
